Thank you!!

Today’s blog is dedicated to certain companies and individuals that I have stumbled across recently, as they aim to make our world a better place to live in…

The Environment

Whilst I don’t class myself as a environmental activist I do believe pride and care should be taken over the world that we live in…after all God asks us to do such a thing!! Everytime I appreciate the breeze through the trees, the amazing sight of the sun rising over the sea, or the wonderful smell when grass it cut, I will always say thank you for such gifts and will always remember to look after the environment as best as I can. When discussing this topic there is one individual that springs to my mind – an activist at heart Sophia Bush!! Sophia’s blog not only highlights but also emphasises her passion to keep beautiful the world in which we live. You can find Sophia’s blog here:

Sophia has encouraged me to respect and take care of the environment in which I live, something which has never been at the front of my mind. I believe that if we all took notice of individuals like Sophia and we all did our bit to look after our environment then we might have a chance of restoring and protecting this beautiful world in which we live.

Our Children

Those of you that know me, or read my blogs, will know that I am so very very passionate about charities that help children. The two main charities that I am in awe of are The NSPCC and Love146 both of which aim to help, support, protect and restore our children and their childhoods. It pains me to read how children are being abused, it pains me to hear that children are being bought and sold like they were a pint of milk – our world does not care for our children in the way that it should and it is this that devastates me. It is because of charities like The NSPCC and Love146 that hope can be provided. Thank you to them. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!

Our health

T.V. chefs are becoming more and more conscious about the food we are eating. Jamie Oliver and Gordon Ramsey, to name a few, are actively trying to change our eating habits and are inspiring us to eat better and healthier. On another recent trip to London I indulged (being the word) in my first taste of Pret A Manger. My amazingly, wonderful, incredible fiance has gone on about how good Pret’s food is and I have to say he was right!!

On my menu was:
+Avocado and pine nut tortilla wrap (completely delicious and only 440 calories)
+ Granola fruit and oaty yoghurt pot (again this was sooo good and was approx. 320 calories)
+Peach Ice Tea (the best part of my lunch – only water, tea, ice and a splash of real fruit – gorgeous)

Pret’s statement:
“Pret creates handmade, natural food, avoiding the obscure chemicals, additives and preservatives common to so much of the ‘prepared’ and ‘fast’ food on the market today”

I would definitely eat there again – delicious and inexpensive food aiming to make our world a healthier place. Yum!!!

Safety and Security

In light of the recent rioting activity that has been happening all over the UK a massive, massive thank you must be given to the men and women from the police force and fire-brigade. The selfless acts of the thousands of men and women who have risked their own lives to save and protect our communities deserve much more than anyone could give.

I do NOT agree with the acts of these disgusting rioters, nor do I believe the bullshit excuse that ‘such actions are a cry for help’  There is no justification for what they have done!!!

My thoughts and prayers go out to our service men and women, the local individuals who are helping and supporting those affected, and of course to those who have lost their homes and businesses.
